In the competitive world of athletics the bar is constantly rising on the skills required to be successful especially for the Striker/Thrower athletes. Utilization of the most advanced training techniques is especially critical to those involved in these sports. The reason is they call for a very different demand on the athlete and their body will pay a very different cost then in any other sport. The biggest problem is that cost is not clearly understood by the athlete, coaches, and trainers therefore standard training techniques do not reflect the information needed. The goal should and needs to be reaching their genetic potential and minimizing their risk of injury. To reach your genetic potential the Top-flight Striker/Thrower athlete has to engage in the highest expertise in coaching and information along with equipment to implement the most advanced training techniques. Camps and lessons are beneficial but they should only be looked at as an introduction to the information and are not sufficient to reach the athletic goal. This requires a detail approach taking into account all of the processes involved in the striker thrower function. What is not clearly understood by most is the time it takes to achieve this goal. The NHA Futures staff has been part of a team that has been studying the best Striker/Throwers on the planet and the impact on their body. What we know now is in order for you to have a chance at achieving your genetic maximum you will have to master the four performance absolutes, they are Biomechanical efficiency, Functional Strength and Conditioning, Nutritional supplementations, and Mental and Emotional support. We have designed a Futures program a training road map for you to follow with this research and findings so you can have complete mastery of these absolutes for you to reach you genetic potential.

In my forty-five years of Major League experience as a player, coach and manager I have had the opportunity to study and train some of the highest profile hitters in the game. Marquee names like, Ken Griffey Jr., Mark McGwire, Adam Dunn, Geoff Jenkins and many others. In working with all of the great hitters I have come to the conclusion that the secret to being a great hitter is "there are no secrets", However, there are characteristics and traits that really separate the best of them from all others. Most great hitters have a very high level of baseball information and a very detailed training regiment. But, the most common characteristic that I see among all the great hitters I have spent my entire career watching, talking to, and learning from is they have a great swing. It sounds simple but here’s what we see happening during the swing:
1.) keeping there hands inside the ball as long as possible
2.) staying through the ball at contact and after contact
3.) staying behind the ball the front leg must be firm
4.) staying over the ball
The characteristics of the swing are coupled with their strength. These guys are strong they can get their bat through that hitting zone with tremendous bat speed. They are also baseball strong and what I mean by that is they are functionally strong. They have the physical capability to quiet and stabilize their body, while they deliver a very powerful and violent shoulder turn during the swing. This strength is crucial and you need the right workout to achieve this kind of functional strength. As I said earlier all great hitters have a high level of information. Information on how to achieve the traits and strength to a great swing are essential in developing a hitter. For the benefit of all hitters I have complied the information I have obtain from these talented hitters and coaches and designed a training program that mirrors how the big leaguers train. I call it “TRAIN THE SWING” and it’s now available for you to start to develop your swing the way the best hitters in the world do. I have always said
“Why do we have to wait until they’re in professional baseball before they can get this kind of training”.
“ We need to start training hitters as early as possible, with this kind of training, the younger the better”
